Talyn is the daughter of a moderately successful merchant house that arrived in Neverwinter from Everlund in the years following the Spellplague. A number of members of their family have possessed a natural affinity for magic, and they have used this talent to their advantage in expanding their business. The Silverblood family has a reputation for being shrewd but fair, and they are often involved with efforts to help the Neverwinter community.
The magic that Talyn wields is a result of her bloodline, being directly descended from Deszeldaryndun Silverwing, the Kindly Dragon of the North. Silverwing was known to spend much of his time among the people in human form. Centuries ago, when he was still a young dragon, before he became consort to the Dragon Queen, he entered into a relationship with a human woman. But dragons live far longer than humans, and eventually, Silverwing went his own way. From that relationship, however, a child was born. Since then, their family has carried dragon blood in their veins.
When Talyn grew to adulthood, her father gave to her an heirloom that had been passed down in their family for many generations. It was an old journal written in draconic. The journal had been kept by Silverwing whenever he took human form. He had left it to the family shortly after the Spellplague. At that time, Silverwing still occasionally kept in contact. But for a long time now, he has not been heard from by anyone. Word has it that he was eventually killed by the red dragon Klauth.
While Talyn devotes much of her time to learning more about her draconic heritage, she still helps with the family business. Since the recent rediscovery of Gauntlgrym, the family has been looking to bring in new business from the Delzoun dwarves. They have also been keeping a wary eye on Klauth’s growing influence within the city and the expansion of his Red Brigade.
